Pediatric Epilepsy Fellowship Experience

A Care & Cure Fellowship at a Level 4 Pediatric Epilepsy Center offers an immersive experience where medical expertise, compassionate care, and advanced research come together to tackle the challenges of childhood epilepsy. Fellows work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including epileptologists, neurosurgeons, dietitians, neuropsychologists, nurses, and social workers, providing care for a diverse range of patients from infants to adolescents.

Through this hands-on experience, fellows gain expertise in anti-epileptic medications, diets, emerging therapies, and clinical research, including genetic studies and clinical trials. This exposure ensures they remain at the forefront of medical innovation, preparing them for a fulfilling career focused on improving the lives of children with epilepsy.

So much of being, I think, an effective physician is you’re an advocate. You’re putting yourself in the child’s shoes, the teenager’s shoes, the parents’ shoes, and the siblings’ shoes. You’re trying to anticipate and understand what they’re going through.
